About The United States of America
The United States of America is more popularly known as the US or just America and is the third largest country in the world, not only by population but by area too. It is a transcontinental country located mainly in North America. It is divided into 50 states and one federal district. It is bordered by Canada to the North and Mexico to the south. Maritime borders of the US are shared with Russia, the Bahamas, Cuba and other nations.

The United States is historically known to be a country of immigrants. The population is very diverse and this has led to the US being in the top 10 of the most multicultural countries in the world. This is because many immigrants have moved to the US in search of better living conditions, better work opportunities, for safety from persecution and violence. Because of this, the US has earned the nickname "the Land of Dreams". Many people go to the US in pursuit of happiness and to make their dreams come true.
America has a dynamic and diverse environment that accepts people from all walks of life. Being able to study in an environment with other international students from all over the world with different backgrounds, ethnicities, and races is definitely a part of the enriched educational experience offered by universities in the US. Interaction with other students from various countries helps with development of strong skills and make one very valuable in the international market. Post-Study Work Opportunities
As an International student in US, work opportunities don’t just end when you’re done with your degree because you may also qualify for Post-Completion Optional Practical Training (OPT), which lets you stay and work in your chosen field for 12 months. If you already took part in Pre-Completion OPT, the duration of your Post-Completion OPT will be 12 months minus the duration of Pre-Completion OPT. For example; if you’ve already completed OPT before graduating for 10 months, your Post-Completion OPT will be valid for two months. If you’re a STEM student, you might also be able to extend your stay by 24 months – clocking in a maximum of 3 years to live and work in the USA. Your Designated School Official will assist in helping nominate you for OPT.

Extension after Graduation
International students can extend their stay in US legally using the following methods;
a. OPT (Optional Practical Training)
International student that studied in certain science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields are qualify for a 2-year extension of OPT. This is an option for F-1 Visa for students who have recently graduated. OPT is temporary employment authorization, and your employment must be related to your F-1 area of study. Students who are eligible may apply to receive up to one year of OPT employment authorization.
b. Apply for a Non-Immigrant Work Visa
The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows immigrants to temporarily work in high-skilled occupations. Immigrants applying for an H-1B visa are required to have specialized knowledge and a bachelor’s degree or higher or its equivalent.
c. Apply for a Green Card
